Verso signed and dated. Titled on the stretcher. 80 x 100 cm (31.4 x 39.3 in).

PROVENANCE: Private collection Austria (obtained as present from the artist).

As of the 1960s Otto Piene began to experiment with fire, smoke and light. He uses their interplay for a common goal. In the process intention and desire, as well as arbitrariness and the material's independence enter in a balanced synthesis. It seems as if a filgree, watery shimmering bubble, its dark color in contrast with the light background, emerges from nowhere in the image center. The beauty and expressive power of this effect is underlined by the associative poetic title.
