Hauptwerk zur Pneumatik des griechischen Ingenieurs und Mathematikers Hero Alexandrinus.
Erweiterte Neuediton der ersten Commandino-Ausgabe, erschienen in Urbino 1575. Die Holzschnitt-Illustrationen sind hier seitenverkehrt in Kupferstich wiedergegeben. Mit dem Kommentar am Schluß von J. B. Aleotti. "The mechanical contrivances described are mostly operated by the pressure of the atmosphere .. Although many of the devices are toys or parlor-tricks, that was the fashion of the day, and Hero's matter-of-fact treatment clearly indicates that his interest was in the way they worked" (Robert/Trents). - Unbeschnittenes und tlw. unaufgeschnittenes Exemplar.
