Signed and dated at bottom left margin. With a fragmented label and a stamped number on the reverse. 24 x 17.5 cm (9.4 x 6.8 in).

• This portrait reveals Hugo Kaufmann's preference for depictions of Bavarian folk life.
• He captured the sitter's nature, usually in a warm and brownish tone, with great mastery.
• Part of the same private collection for over 40 years.

PROVENANCE: Private collection Southern Germany (acquired in 1980, ever since family-owned).
