• Rare work from the artist's early period of creation
• One of the first paintings presented at the Paris Salon in 1857
• His contemporaries honored Harpignies as the “Michelangelo of trees and peaceful landscapes”.
• Works by the artist can be found in the Musée d'Orsay, Paris, the Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg, the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
