Signed bottom center. Inscribed “[Mr.] Flamm” on the reverse of the stretcher. Titled “sorrentinische Küste” on the reverse of the decorative frame as well as with an old, typographically numbered label and an illegible handwritten note. 51 x 75 cm (20 x 29.5 in).
In the original frame.

• Albert Flamm captured the atmosphere of the Gulf of Naples in vibrant colors and warm sunlight.
• He was close friends with Oswald Achenbach throughout his life, taking several study trips to Italy with him.
• In the early 1850s, they lived with Arnold Böcklin in Rome.
• The painting has been family-owned for over 120 years
.

PROVENANCE: Private collection, Bavaria (acquired around 1900, ever since family-owned).
