"Guarneri’s work is a history of the War of Cyprus, and it also celebrates the naval victory of the Battle of Lepanto. He was a canon of the Cathedral of Bergamo and a scholar and writer" (Cyprus and the Levant 1:227).
EINBAND: Pergamentband mit rotem Rückenschild. 4to. 19,5 : 15 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit Holzschnitt-Druckermarke auf dem Titel. - KOLLATION: 8 nn., 174 num. Bll. - ZUSTAND: Stellenw. etw. wasserrandig oder gebräunt, wenige Bll. mit kl. Randläsuren, erste Bll. mit ausgebesserter Eckläsur.

First edition of this rare account of the War of Cyprus (1570-3). With woodcut printer's device on title. Vellum with label on spine. - Partly some waterstaining or browning, few leaves with small marginal defects, first leaves with repair at upper corner.(R)
