Die Holzschnitte gehen hauptsächlich auf die Entwürfe von Conrad Gesner zurück. "Sieben Textholzschnitte behandeln Distellier- und Brennöfen " (Isphording, Kräuter 82).
EINBAND: Neuer Lederband unter Verwendung alter Deckelbezüge, über Holzdeckeln und mit 2 Messing-Schließen. 40,5 : 24 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit über 1000 Textholzschnitten. - KOLLATION: 9 (st.) 10 nn. Bll., 460 num. Bll. und 25 (st. 27) nn. Bll. - ZUSTAND: Ohne Titelblatt und die beiden letzten Bll. (1 Bl. Register und 1 Bl. Druckvermerk). - Gebräunt, wasserrandig und tls. etw. fleckig, zu Beginn und am Ende mit Quetschfalten, letzte ca. 30 Bll. mit Randläsuren (darunter 3 Indexblätter mit Textverlust). Einbd. etw. verzogen.

One of the most popular and most comprehensive herbals of its time. With more than 1000 woodcuts in text. New calf using old blindstamped calf covers over wooden boards and with 2 brass clasps. - Without title page and the last 2 pages (1 index leaf and 1 leaf with printer's device). - Browned, waterstained and partly slightly stained, with creases at the beginning and end, last approx. 30 leaves with marginal damage (including 3 index sheets with loss of text). Binding partly warped.
