Catalog for the first abd one but last travelling exhibition of the artist group Brücke, extremely rare ; last offered on the German auction market some 30 years ago. - An outstanding document of the Brücke and their early Expressionism, with the two extraordinarily rare woodcuts by Pechstein. The travelling exhibition went from the Galerie Gurlitt in Berlin to the Galerie Commeter in Hamburg. Before the exhibition managed to move on the participating artists were in a dispute which led to Pechstein's exclusion, since he had had a guest exhibition in the Berlin Secession, which is why his woodcuts are only shown in this Berlin catalog, for the exhibiton in the Hamburg Galerie Commeter they were replaced with woodcuts by Heckel and Schmidt-Rottluff. Pechstein's wooducts were made exclusively for this catalog, we have not found proof of them in commerce. The KVK mentions a copy of the complete booklet in possession of the Zurich National Library. - Orig woodcuts printed on thin rose wove paper. - With woodcuts by M. Pechstein: Reiter vor einem Turm und Schwermuth (Krüger H 158 und 159) - E. L. Kirchner: Titelholzschnitt (Dube 727), Schleudertanz (Dube 728) and Toilette (Dube 730) - K.
