• Made during the early Murnau years, when Münter and Kandinsky explored the beautiful landscape in their art, eventually acquiring a house in August 1909 which would become an artist meeting point.
• Intimate and spontaneous landscape sketch that conveys the freshness of the artist's immediate impression.
• Bold and with a lust for experimenting, Münter began to pursue new paths that eventually led to the compact, expressive and abstract forms characteristic of her landscapes.
Accompanied by a written confirmation issued by the Gabriele Münter- and Johannes Eichner-Foundation on October 27, 2015 (in copy). The painting will be included into the catalog raisonné of paintings by Gabriele Münter.
