Botanischer Tafelteil von Lamarcks Tableau Encyclopédie méthodique.
Der von Lamarck herausgegebene botanische Tafelteil der Encyclopédie méthodique wurde ab 1819 von J. J. M. Poiret fortgeführt (Taf. 901-1000). - Tafeln in kräftigen Abdrucken auf meist unbeschnittenem Bütten (Blattgr. ca. 32 : 23,5 cm), überwiegend mit mehreren Darstellungen pro Blatt.
EINBAND: Neue Lederbände mit Rückenschild. 33 : 25 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Folge von 899 botanischen Kupfertafeln (st. 900) nach Audebert, De Sève, Poiret, H.-J. Redouté u. a. - ZUSTAND: Fehlt die Taf. 790. Tafelbände ohne Titel (durch Fotokopie ersetzt). Der Textband versammelt nur Teile des zweiten Bandes: Titelbl., S. 1-136, 201-496. - Stellenw. wasserrandig (meist im weißen Rand, vereinz. deutlicher), die letzten 100 Taf. gleichmäßig gebräunt, 2 Tafeln mit ergänztem Eckabriß (Bildverlust), 1 Tafel nur fragmentarisch erhalten. Rücken etw. verfärbt. - PROVENIENZ: Mit 4 Stempeln des Kgl. Joachimsthalschen Gymnasiums als Legat des preußischen Justizministers Friedrich Wilhelm von Thulemeier (1735-1811): "Gymnasio Reg: Joachim: Legat: Ab Illustr: Thulemeiero". Dieser hinterließ dem Gymnasium testamentarisch nicht nur eine umfangreiche Musikaliensammlung, sondern auch 5000-6000 Bücher.

The botanical plates of Lamarck's "Encyclopédie méthodique". Set of 899 (of 900) fine copperplates, printed on laid paper and mostly untrimmed. Bound in 4 plate vols. and 1 additional volume with a selection of text from the second volume. Mod. calf with label on spine. - Lacking plate 790. Partly waterstained (mostly in the white margins, here and there stronger), the last 100 copperplates evenly browned, 2 plates with mended torn of corner (affecting printed matter), 1 plate only a fragment. Spine discolored. With 4 stamps of the "Joachimsthalsches Gymnasium" in Berlin.
