Schöner Druck in Rot und Schwarz auf kräftigem Papier, mit sehr zahlreichen Notenabbildungen. Aufwendiger und großformatiger Luxusdruck aus der Salzburger Mayr-Offizin.

EINBAND: Samtband d. Zt. mit Ganzgoldschnitt. 40 : 29 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit Kupfertitel, 2 ganzseitigen Kupfern von Ph. Kilian und 2 gestochenen architektonischen Randbordüren sowie zahlreichen floralen Holzschnitt-Initialen in Rot. - KOLLATION: 226 (recte 228) Bll. - ZUSTAND: Stellenw. leicht gebräunt und ca. 20 Bll. mit Kerzenwachs-Spuren. Einband verblichen und etw. berieben, unt. Kap. und 1 Kante beschabt. Insgesamt für ein Gebrauchsbuch seiner Zeit gutes Exemplar. - PROVENIENZ: Vortitel verso mit schönem montierten Wappen eines Bischofs des frühen 18. Jhs. (Mitra simplex über Schild mit drei Fischen nach rechts und Schild mit Sonnenberg, datiert 1733, in Rebus-Form), in brauner Tinte und kräftigem Kolorit.

Splendid 18th century Salzburg Pontifical. Fine print in red and black on strong paper with very many illustrations of notes. With engr. title, 2 full page coppers, 2 engr. borders and many floral woodcut initials in red. Contemp. velvet with gilt edges. - Slightly browned in places and approx. 20 sheets with traces of candle wax. Binding faded and slightly rubbed, foot of spine and 1 edge scraped. All in all a good copy for a utility book of its time. Front title verso with mounted beautiful coat of arms of a bishop of the early 18th century. (Miter simplex above shield with three fish to the right and shield with 3 mountains of sun, dated 1733), in brown ink and strong coloring.
