Berühmte Sammlung spätantiker Lehrgedichte, vorwiegend aus dem Gebiet der Astronomie.

Erste Ausgabe bei Herwagen. - Die Texte in philologischer Bearbeitung bzw. Übersetzung des Heidelberger Humanisten J. Micyllus (vgl. ADB XXI, 704 ff.). Enthält außer den Fabulae von Hyginus noch sein Poeticon astronomicon, zudem von Palaephatus De fabulosis narrationibus, von F. Fulgentius Placiades die Mythologiarum libri III & De vocum antiquarium interpretatione, liber I, ferner Aratos' Phainomena und Proclus' De sphaera , die letztere beiden Werke in griech.-lat. Parallelausgabe. Die Holzschnitte illustrieren Stern- und Tierkreiszeichen.

Folio. 30 : 21 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit 48 figürlichen Textholzschnitten, Holzschnitt-Druckermarke auf dem Titel und am Ende sowie zahlr. floralen und leils auch figürlichen Holzschnitt-Initialen. - KOLLATION: 12 Bll., 246 S., 1 Bl. - ZUSTAND: Etw. stockfl., Titel mit kl. Ausschnitt am Oberrand. Kanten beschabt, Bezug tls. gelöst und am hinteren Deckel mit Fehlstellen.

Edges scraped, cover partly loosened, back cover with small defective spots.(R)
