This edition was presumably made by initiative of the Ulm Dominicans, who had commissioned Zainer to print several works (cf. Amelung, Frühdruck, p. 19).
The magnificently preserved binding was made by the workshop of the Ulm second printer and book binder Cornad Dinckmut (Kyriß 126), who for some time worked in cooperation with the printer Conrad Mancz from Blaubeuren as of ca. 1481 (cf. Amelung pp. 151f. and 191f.). The bindings from the Dinckmut-Mancz workshop are characterized by, among others, a clasp that carries the inscription 'man' or 'manc' , as it is the case with this copy. For the single stamps cf. Kyriß 126,1 (rose) and Schunke/Schwenke 634 (rose), 15 (head of Christ) and 36 (Mary). - Broad margins slightly foxed all the way through, at beginnign and at end with small traces of worming, side edge with ink stain, 1 p. with wiped ink stains in white margin. Binding with few traces of worming, movable part of clasp renewed. All in all fine and well-preserved copy.
