Horae B. M. V. - Latin book of hours. Manuscript on vellum. France (?), second half of 15th century. 167 ll. in a size of ca. 10,4 : 7,5 cm. Text area ca. 5,6 : 3,4 cm. Textura, written in black brown ink. 15 lines, slugged. With 4 miniatures in gold and colors, surrounded by tendril borders of color acanthus leaves, blossoms and fruits, each with a historicized initial in gold and colors below, also with 8 three- or four-spaced initials in gold and colors tendrils with golden leaves and flowers in colors as well as numerous small lombards, alternating in red and blue. - New vellum.

Small-format book of hours in a pleasing make-up. The nice miniatures show the annunciation of Mary, witsun, king David praying and a funeral scene. The scanty calendar does not indicate a local saint, the delicate's book's arrangement and make, however, are a hint at its origin in northern France.
