Ulmer, Ulricus, Fraternitas cleri. With drawn-in lombards in red . [Ulm, Johann Zainer, around 1480]. Contemp wooden boards with new calf spine in an old style. Two brass clasps. Folio. 87 unnumb. ll. (the last blank missing). Rotunda font, 40 lines, rubricated.

Hain/Cop. 16083. - Goff U 57. - BMC II, 529. - BSB U-68. - Polain 10023. - GW M48846. - Wegener, Zainer 13. - Not in Amelung. - First edition of the work on a priest's duties and virtues. - All that is known about the author is that he was "a pious man who was adept in the writings of the old church teachers and philosophers, sufficient proof therefor is delivered by this book" (translation of quote from Zapf, Buchdruckergeschichte Schwabens 131 ). - Slightly stained in places, few small marginal blemishes or small wormtracks, last page somewhat soiled in places; endpapers renewed. All in all fine and broad-margined copy on strong paper.

First edition of this work on priest's duties and virtues. Rubricated throughout and with painted lombards in red. 87 nn. leaves (lacking last blank). Contemp. binding over wooden boards with blindpr. calf spine in contemp. style; 2 brass clasps (partly renewed). - Partly slight staining, few small marg. defects or small wormtraces, last page somewhat soiled, endpapers renewed. In general good and wide-margined copy on strong paper.
