Conatins a total of 12 chapters, among them Der asphyktische Eduard, Die strangulirte Getrud, Der abortirte August, Der Tuben-Emil, Der congenital-luetische Leo, Der papierene Moritz, Der anencephalische Otto et al. - The author Carl Heinrich Stratz (1858-1924) studied medicin in Heidelberg and Leipzig, was medical officer in the Dutch army on Java and went on several study trips to America, China and Japan. He settled as a gynecologist in The Hague in 1898. Besides several scientific writings, he also composed works on cultural history, particularly on female beauty. "His works are not only an enrichment for gynecological literature, but also for art literature, as endued his writings with own artistic illustrations" (translation of quote from Hirsch/Hüb. Addenda II, 1525). - Title evenly browned and with ownership entry as well as private stamp, another ownership entry on front board.
