Koemann 0001:2A. - Shirley 255, 4th state (of 4). - Latin text on rear. - Nice and lavishly-made map of the world in Mercator projection, framed by four colored image bars: the four elements and the four seasons at sides, the upper bar with seven small ovals with the planets, sun and moon in allegoric depiction, and the lower bar with seven ancient wonders of the world. Additionally with two globes in polar projection as well as three colored decorative cartouches and rich maritime decorations. - Centerfold skillfully restored and reinforced, with small restored spot at top of right margin. Mounted in upper margin.

Beautiful world map on Mercator's projection. Surrounded by four decorative borders illustrating the elements, the seasons, the seven wonders of the world and the planets, sun and moon. With two small polar globes. - Centrefold skillfully restored and rebacked, right margin at the top with few small restaurations. Matted.
