The borders are identified and reproduced by Cartier and are also attributed to Salomon ... The de Tournes Ovids, combining the Salomon illustrations and borders with French, Italian, or Flemish texts, are among the most attractive volumes produced at Lyons." Contains woodcut portrait on title, 188 woodcut illustrations with varying elaborate borders, fig.woodcut titleborder, woodcut titelvignette and 7 (1 fullpage) woodcuts in text, mostly medaillions. 18th cent. calf with label on spine. - Minor foxing in places, 2nd part browned. Edges of binding partly restored. Else fine copy.
