• Lovis Corinth is one of the most important German impressionists.
• His studies at the Paris Académie Julian under Tony Robert Fleury and William Adolphe Bouguereau in 1884 laid the foundation for his occupation with the female nude.
• Corinth, well-known for his sensuous and physical painting, attained a fascinating free, airy and coloristic form and an expressive pose.
• At the peak o fhis success, Corinth was elected president of the Berliner Secession in 1911, in 1913 Paul Cassirer organized a comprehensive Corinth retrospective exhibition.
• His works are in renowned international collections like the Musée d'Orsay, Paris, the Museum of Modern Art, New York and Tate Gallery, London
