• Pedro Figari was one of the most important artists in Uruguay and all of Latin America in the 1920s.
Candombe, an Afro-Latin American form of dance, is one of Figari's preferred subjects as it offered him lively and colorful motifs.
• Figari's works are in important international collections, including the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Buenos Aires, the Art Museum of the Americas, Washington D.C. and the Musée d'Orsay, Paris
