With estate stamp of the Kunstmuseum Basel on the reverse (Lugt 1570 b) and with the hand-written registration number "F Dre/Bi 28". On yellowish brown wove paper. 43.5 x 30.2 cm (17.1 x 11.8 in), nearly the full sheet. [CH].

• Intimate studio drawing from the sought-after "Brücke" period.
• In this work Kirchner not only devoted himself to the study of human physiognomy, but also outlines the interior of the room.
• During these years, the Dresden studio was not only living and working space of the "Brücke" artists, but also a meeting place for female amateur models.
• This work presumably shows either Kirchner's girlfriend Emmy Frisch or his lover and later girlfriend Doris "Dodo" Große
.
