• Early work from the small oeuvre that the artist had left behind - two thirds of his work was destroyed in an air raid in 1943.
• Together with Heinrich Campendonk and Heinrich Nauen, Macke is one of the Rhenish Expressionists active in Krefeld.
• In the last few years his hitherto little known oeuvre has been honored in several exhibitions (Cologne 2016, Ahlen / Bonn / Erfurt and others 2017/18, Dortmund 2019)).

Herrn Burkhard Leismann, Kunstmuseum Ahlen, is going to include the work into the catalog raisonneé.
