With a dedication "Diese Mappe ist mit besonderer Liebe / für Herrn Otto Ralfs von mir koloriert/ A.Jawlensky" and inscription "Eigenhändig koloriert / A.Jawlensky" on the title leaf. One of the rare hand-colord copies from the complete edition of 100 copies. On beige machine-made laid paper. Up to 31.5 x 20.5 cm (12.4 x 8 in). Sheet: each ca. 49,8 x 39,8 cm (19,6 x 15,7 in). Printed by Vereinigte Druckereien Wiesbaden. Each of the six sheets with watercolors in soft shades of blue, yellow and rose. • Only hand-colored copy of the complete portfolio on the international auction market • Another copy of the portfolio is in possession of the Stae Art Collections Dresden • Even single hand-colored sheets are extremely rare • With a personal dedication by Jawlensky to the Brunswick collector and gallerist Otto Ralfs.
