"Günther" is an example from the work group of the talking sculptures created by the Czech artist Krištof Kintera. The faceless figure in human appearance talks about 25 issues played in loop. This contradictory constellation makes for the special fascination of this work. A man-like machine without a mouth asks the observer in English essential questions regarding human existence, like for instance: What are your fears? or: How many real friends do you have? The Talkman provides the observer with food for thought in short sequences and also adresses controversial issues like bearing firearms. Krištof Kintera lives and works in Prague where he was born in 1973 and where he also studied art. He visited Columbus/Ohio, Birmingham and Munich on scholarships and research fellowships. Eventually he completed his education with a one year stay at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. Through his art Kintera participates in current social and societal debates.
