Rudloff 658. Plinth with artist's signet, number and foundry mark "Guss Barth Rinteln". From an edition of 8 copies. Ca. 58.4 x 34 x 15 cm (22.9 x 13.3 x 5.9 in).
Cast after 1971 by art foundry Richard Barth, Rinteln.
Marcks used the "Kleinen drei Grazien" as model for the larger group "Grazien", executed in 1957 (cf. Rudloff 664).
Only three copies of this work have been offered on the auction market over the past 25 years (source: www.artprice.com).

PROVENANCE: Private collection Germany.

"Gerhard Marck's creations from the 1950s marked the peak of his creation and his recognition. Above that, while he only had a few solo shows before 1945 [..], the number Marcks exhibitions suddenly skyrocketed."
