The 1977 Documenta was the first exhibition that also included artist books, among them several works from Herbert Zangs' series of "Anti Books". In the exhibition "The Book's Metamorphosis" Herbert Zangs expressed a clear position against the book as status symbol and addresses the banality that books at times have. Additionally, Herbert Zangs also questions aspects of excessive consumption of information and the shallowness of reading in general. [EH]
