Kampenwand VI. Um 1910.
Oil on canvas.
Putz NO 4. Lower right signed. 41.5 x 65.3 cm (16.3 x 25.7 in).
Inscribed on rear of canvas by a hand other than that of the artist: "Am Langenbürgener See (Chiemsee Gebiet)".
Fresh mountain landscape executed in an easy flow.

Putz painted this view six time, proof enough of how much he must have loved this landscape. The virtuosity of the application of the paint suggests a plein-air execution. Pure landscapes without any figurative staffage appear much more often in Leo Putz's creation than one would guess. They are documents of an intense occupation with the coloristic challenges of an atmospheric autumn landscape.
