"Chaperon“ is a very typical example of Jason Martin's method. The stroke of the brush and the color's value are the two main components of his works. The pastose application of the paint looks like "brushed“. The grooved brush structures create forms, light and shade on the surface. In our two-part work the flow of this effect is continued on both panels, making the two separate image carriers one. By means of this artifice Jason Martin's large-size work unfolds a very dynamic and impressively illusionist effect.
