As of around1954 Otto Ritschl's forms became consolidated, by then they had gained their expression from the soft motion of the interplay with the free line. The geometrical style leads to a stricter organization of the composition, while the artist does without both pictorial accounts and color nuances. This artistic development became intensified through the encounter with Parisian artists of Constructivism, who make for a new source of inspiration for Ritschl. The strict path that Ritschl pursued over the course of just a few years is particularly interesting: While geometric bodies in his compositions from 1954 and 1955 are still rounded, edgy and pointed elements take over during 1956. Meticulously organized images in strong colors are the result, among which the work offered here also counts.
