After a model by Johann Peter Melchior for the manufactory Höchst, around 1779.
Standing young man in long jacket. Right hand pointing direction. Left hand on closed cage on fascine cross. With ichneumon sitting on cage.
Bottom inscribed "299" (scratched) and blue wheelmark.
An ichneumon is a Hispanic African type of civet that was shown on fairs and carnivals in the 18th century, because of its exotic appearance.
