Bernd Scheid was born in Dresden on 5 September, 1948. As early as in 1969 he had his first exhibition where he showed drawings and caricatures. In 1978 Scheid fled the GDR and went to West Germany, where he has been living and working ever since in Kobern-Gondorf. His works have been shown all over the world in exhibitions in Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland and the U.S.A. since the early 1980s. Bernd Scheid’s expressive-abstract compositions have a lyrical-musical aura, which is due to the color fields’ rhythm created by strong strokes of the brush. This painting is particularly captivating for its expressive dynamic and lucent colors. [KH].
