Signed lower left. 24,2 : 30 cm (9,5 : 11,8 in). The present painting, which still obviously owes a debt to Jugendstil as far as the palette is concerned, reveals the naturalistic qualities typical of Bauknecht’s early work. In the present instance, Bauknecht has taken up one of his favourite motifs, the mountain scenery around Davos and the chalets of the Alpine peasants living in the valleys. [KD]
