Stehendes Pferd nach rechts. 1829.
Oil on canvas.
Signed and dated lower right. 33,3 : 41 cm (13,1 : 16,1 in). Albrecht Adam travels to Stuttgart in 1829 to portrait the Arabian horses of the King of Wurttemberg. The origin of this painting may be considered in connection with this journey, as the horse depicted is definitely of Arabian breed, which can be inferred from its physique. Adam solely focusses on the horse’s noble stature; it seems to stand in an undefined, imaginary space, without any further decoration. [KD]

Slight craquelé, edges somewhat bumped in places, few minor retouchings.
