Mit großer Holzschnitt-Verlegermarke auf dem Titel, blattgr. Wappen-Holzschnitt (auf Titel vo.) und nahezu 500 schwarzgrundigen Münzholzschnitten, ferner mit 2 großen Criblé-Initialen. Lyon, J. de Tournes für J. de Strada und T. Guerin 1553. Grüngefärbter Pgt. d. 18. Jhs. mit Schließbändern. 44 Bll., 339 S., 2 Bll. (d. l. w.)
Leicht stockfl. und stellenw. gebräunt. Bezug an den Gelenken eingerissen, Rücken mit kl. Fehlstellen. Sonst gutes und breitrandiges Exemplar aus der Bibliothek des italienischen Archäologen und Bibliophilen Marchese Allesandro Gregorio Capponi (1683-1746), mit dessen Stempel und hs. Besitzvermerk (dat. 1743) auf der Wappentafel. Vgl. Berti, Cat. Capponi S. 420.
First edition. With elaborate woodcut device of Guerin on title, armorial woodcut of J. J. Fugger on title vo. and almost 500 white-on-black woodcuts of coins and medals with fine emperor portraits (97 medaillons contain names only). Green tinted 18th cent. vellum. - Slight foxing and partly browning. Covering to joints torn, spine with small defective spots. Else good copy with broad margins. From the library of the Italian bibliophile Marquese A. G. Capponi, his library stamp and ownership inscription on the armorial woodcut.
