Günter Haese‘s filigree plastics from the 1960s are characterized by a unique airiness and lucency. Ewald Mataré‘s master student made fragile components from clockworks, such as spiral springs, gearwheels and fine brass wire his very individual means of artistic expression. Since the 1970s Haese‘s kinetic creations have gained in formal strength and reduction. Owed to their calm beauty and presence, Haese‘s impressive unique objects put an ever new spell on the observer. Depending on the perspective, this sensitive creation offers different spatial impressions, even the slightest vibration sets it into motion. The rhythmic swinging of the parallel brass rods is enhanced through the ballheads and becomes visually perceptible. From 1964 on Haese‘s works were on display in solo shows at the Ulm Museum and the Museum of Modern Art, New York, many national and international exhibitions followed. Haese‘s work is represented at a large number of collections around the world, among them the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum, Cologne, the Museum Kunstpalast, Düsseldorf and the Tate Collection, London.
