Color Chalks over ink on two sheets of the frontispiece of a book.
Signed and with a personal dedication. Each 35.2 x 26 cm (13.8 x 10.2 in) , size of sheet.
The drawing was executed on the frontispiece of the book "Les Vitraux de Chagall (1959-70)", published by A. C. Mazo, Paris 1972. - Lot not comprising book. [EH].

With a photo expertise from the Comité Marc Chagall, Paris, from 9 November 2016. The work is registered with the archive number 2016106D registriert.

PROVENANCE: Collection Brigitte and Charles Marq, Reims .

Essay
Brigitte Simon and Charles Marq ran a glass painting studio in Reims in the early 1950s. They invited acclaimed contemporary artists to work in their studio and it became a meeting point for names such as Marc Chagall, Le Corbusier, Joan Miró, Serge Poliakoff, Maria Helena Vieira da Silva, Raoul Ubac, George Braque and Serge Charchoune.
