Belatedly inscribed with a dedication by the artist: "Das Kind gehört jetzt dem Gatten Hugo Geißler 9. Sept 1922 Hans Thoma".
Verso of stretcher with several labels and with hand-written numbers. [CB].

PROVENANCE: District court director Dr. Hugo Geißler (1877-1929), the artist's son in law (with dedication by the artist).
State Museums Berlin (with crossed-out inventoy sticker of the Berlin National Gallery on verso of stretcher (inventory no. A III 389) as well as with a label confirming that the work was taken out of the inventory in 1993).
Private ownership Frankfurt.
