Multiple. Azulejo mosaic of 12 hand-painted and glazed tiles and the book "Trafaria Praia" in cork box.
One tile with date, number and inscription. Typographic date, number, title and inscription on Banderole. From an edition of 100 copies. Tile picture: 41,5 x 55,5 cm (16,3 x 21,8 in). Cork box: 16 x 60 x 33 cm (6,2 x 23,6 x 12,9 in).
This artwork was made in connection with Joana Vasconcelos' contribution "Trafaria Praia" for the Portguese pavilion at the 55th Biennale di Venezia in 2013: The ferry boat of the same name from 1960 was staged as so-called "assisted readymade" in Marcel Duchamp's sense. It was left in its original state and decorated with the large traditional Spanish and Portuguese Azulejo mosaic "Great Panorama of Lisbon 21st Century (Tower of Belém)". This Azulejo mosaic of 12 tiles references the mosaic, it shows a small section of the large mosaic with the "Trafaria Praia" in front Bild. The tiles were hand-painted by Viúva Lamego in Lisbon.
